Will Bake for Food - 2011
Last year, sometime mid-October, my friend Jenny Miller (of Rainy Day Gal) called me up and asked if I thought we could pull off a little fundraiser. We'd only met a couple of months earlier at a food blogging event, and even though we didn't spend a lot of time together, I knew she was a smart cookie. I liked her, she's cool. When she pitched the idea of a bake sale, I knew I was in.
Will Bake for Food was born - a frantic dash to a finish line in just 3 short weeks, we sold and collected and raised enough to surprise even the nonprofit we were supporting. And then we went into hibernation until a couple of months ago.
Here it is, a few days until our second Will Bake for Food event, and it's a little less frantic but no less scary. Still happy to have my partner in crime, and now surrounded by both alumni from last year's sale and a ton of new faces (check them out!!) who I can't wait to meet.
This year promises to be bigger than last year. Even I'm taking time off from logistics to bake - always a savory fool, I'll be making bacon scallion biscuits from some lovely home-cured pork belly, courtesy of Larry (@djpegleg) and Kristen (@ramerliang).
Please join us for this remarkable event and help us make it bigger and better than last year!

Thank you
I tried responding on Twitter, but clearly my 4 tweets to-date do not qualify me for knowing how to do that. So...thank you! Very much enjoyed. Congrats on your success and the big hearts that made you care enough to launch such a wonderful event.
