Christmas Eve and Day Dinners
As you might be able to tell by now, we had gotten a little weary of our twice weekly pork dinners - and we were quickly approaching the remaining giant cuts (pork roasts and hams), things we couldn't really consume by ourselves. So for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we headed to the poultry and seafood market in the U-District and loaded up on some birds. While I don't have the complete recipes for these meals, I wanted to share the pictures with you!
For Christmas Eve, we made Quail with Pomegranates and Rose Petals. We served it with some gratineed fingerling potatoes and a lovely green salad.
For Christmas Day, we made Guinea Hen with Cider and Cabbage - the guinea hen was gently poached in cider and served with braised cabbage (and mashed potatoes too).
